I can smell the heat
from the sun fighting
the cool gentle breeze
Category: Haiku
The bird chirps so loud
Relentless, out my window
Overgrown cricket
How different it feels
to hear the black crow’s caw, than
the white seagull’s call
Sorrow consumed me
But all subsides when i wake
The wonders of sleep
Between the hours
of five and seven a.m.
The World awakens
She said to lose snow
would be like losing the wind,
the sky, or the sea
There is a blue light
in the hours before the
night falls and rises
Sleepless I lay here
Is it the calm morning light?
Or my own loud thoughts?
The sunlight falls here
Why do you not bloom with life?
You keep your own time
Birds chirping loudly
at three a.m. It is clear
they cannot tell time
A clear day and mind
The seagulls’ call on the wind
All flow into me
A silence so still
I can hear the wind, fighting
its way through the trees
